Ethos is an American rock band known for their fusion of heavy rock riffs, classical piano, syncopated rhythms, and melodic vocals. Formed in 2009, the band consists of Austen Earp (vocals/piano/guitar), Kuyper Cummings (guitar/vocals), Matthew Palopoli (guitar/vocals), Nick Riggs (bass/vocals) and Tribb Robison, (drums) hailing from Atlanta, GA to Nashville, TN.
The group exhibits a technically rich yet accessible rock sound with roots in progressive metal, alternative rock, and post-metal. Their most recent record, Shade & Soil, has garnered attention for showcasing some of the group’s most impressive and melodic work to date. Perhaps the most elaborate example of this is the three part, “Archetype Suite,” brandishing a potent sense of orchestral theatricality by introducing characters and narratives cloaked in intriguing compositional motifs. Fearless grandeur turns to pensive stillness as Ethos explores songwriting with dynamic ferocity - and as their name suggests - demonstrates their ability to conjure a powerfully emotive and captivating listening experience.
"With Shade and Soil, [Ethos] joins the ever-growing list of groups who are pushing the envelope and keeping the ball of musical innovation rolling."
"[Ethos] is regarded equally as highly for their artistic sophistication as for their raw, frenzied rock and roll energy. " -Georgia Local Spotlight
"The band pairs some truly curious sounds, creating an aggressive and turbulent wave of noise that shelters lengths of sizzling guitar riffs, gossamer piano progressions and the odd bit of orchestral theatricality." -Nooga.com
"Arguably one of the best discoveries I’ve made in recent times, this album just soars and soars to stellar heights...Superb song writing, excellent musicianship and a unerring ability to move your soul, Ethos have it all.
